SERVICES GENERAL GYNAECOLOGY CHECK-UPS
The female reproductive system is an intricate and delicate system or part of the body, and sometimes things may go wrong. These wrong things are normally easily treated if they are detected early, that is why regular gynaecological check-ups or women's wellness exams are essential.
Regular gynaecological examinations or health check-ups help ensure that your overall reproductive health is good. A gynaecologist is able to assist a girl or a woman at any age.
When to see a gynaecologist?
It is recommended that one should start visiting a gynaecologist from the age of 13 or 15 years, to build a relationship with the gynaecologist and be more open and comfortable enough to ask questions about menstruation, sexuality and any symptoms that may occur on their reproductive system.
You need to go for a gynaecological exam when:
- You start being sexually active
- You suspect that there may be something going wrong, even if you are not sexually active. You may go if you experience irregular periods, your periods have stopped, unusual discharges, abdominal or pelvic pains etc.
- Family planning
- Fertility issues
- Menopause
- Strong family history of gynaecological problems
What to expect during your appointment?
During your appointment, Dr Victor will perform the following medical checks:

- A pelvic examination where Dr Victor will first check the outside of your genital area and then proceed to check the inside, using a speculum. The speculum will be inserted in your vagina to open up your vagina and allow the gynaecologist to see your cervix. She will then briefly check your cervix internally.
